The Conversation of Man
There is nothing reliable in what they say; .... their throat is an open grave;
.... they flatter with their tongue.
"The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?"
"But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. "
"You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart."
"And they bend their tongue like their bow; lies and not truth prevail in the land; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they do not know me," declares the LORD. "Let everyone be on guard against his neighbor, and do not trust any brother; because every brother deals craftily, and every neighbor goes about as a slanderer. And everyone deceives his neighbor, and does not speak the truth, they have taught their tongue to speak lies; they weary themselves committing iniquity. "
Transgression speaks to the ungodly within his heart; there is no fear of God before his eyes. For it flatters him in his own eyes, concerning the discovery of his iniquity and the hatred of it. The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; ....
Behold, the LORD'S hand is not so short that it cannot save; neither is His ear so dull that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear. .... your lips have spoken falsehood, your tongue mutters wickedness.
