A Light to the World
"I am the LORD, I have called you in righteousness, I will also hold you by the hand and watch over you, and I will appoint you as a covenant to the people, as a light to the nations, To open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the dungeon, and those who dwell in darkness from the prison."
" .... Israel; I will also make you a light of the nations so that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth."
"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you travel about on sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves. "
" .... they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit."
But you are a chosen race, .... a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
.... all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
"Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me. Rejoice, and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. .... You are the light of the world. "
