This piece is one of the six famous Frankoma figurines that were re-issued in 1996 by renowned Frankoma collector and Frankoma expert Tom Grogg.  Tom had planned to have 500 of each figurine made, but due to health problems they were never completed.  Only 117 of the #119 Puma on Rock figurines were made, and this is #16 of 117.  It goes great with the #112 Pacing Leopard figurine listed above.

21. Frankoma #7D and #7M Mayan-Aztec Water Set - Rare

This is a rare Mayan-Aztec Water set that included the large #7D Water Pitcher and 6 #7M Mugs.  Made of Ada Clay, this set is glazed in a rare glaze called Faux Ivory.  Faux Ivory is a translucent ivory color, unlike Frankoma's normal solid colored ivory glaze.  Given the small Oval "O" mark, and the glaze, this set dates to late the early 1940's (1942-1945).  Mint Condition.

Faux Ivory is the same glaze used on the Hats of the #702 Gardener Boys.  More information on Faux Ivory can be found in the Frankoma Collector's Club Newsletter Vol. 3 Iss. 1.

Note: The picture shows only 4 mugs, but there are in fact 6.
